The pickleback has become an extremely popular shot in recent years. The duo of whiskey and pickle brine is well matched, with the latter helping to tame the burn that the whiskey can cause going down.
This cocktail is not for everyone, but if you enjoy a dirty martini, you’ve met your less classy, but just-as-delicious next bar order. (Note: when you make these, be sure to use sugar-free pickle brine.)

Note: We are not saying that alcohol is “healthy” to consume. (More on that here.) We are acknowledging that there are times we inevitably make the choice to imbibe (and we include ourselves in that “we”), and that there are better and worse ways to go about drinking alcohol when it comes to our health. Our goal is to empower you with lower-sugar, lower-calorie, still-fabulous recipes for these times.
