Welcome to my living room workout series! Each week, I share a workout from my personal exercise routine — and then do it in real time so you can follow along. These workouts are optional and are simply one of the many ways you can accomplish your daily exercise.

Living Room Workout 16

In this week’s workout we’re going to build your endurance, but not in the way you might traditionally think. We’re going to use only one movement — the burpee — and we’re going to perform it in intervals. This one is going to get sweaty quickly, so lay down a towel or do this outside.

Before you start, though, I want you to consider this: rather than try to do as many burpees in each interval as possible, pick a target number you think you can hit for all ten rounds. To give you context, I’m going to aim for around a dozen burpees per interval. This may mean I rest for a little extra in the early intervals, but I’m picturing this workout as “ten intervals” rather than one interval at a time.

10 rounds:

  • 30 seconds of burpees
  • 30 seconds of rest

Watch the video for full instruction on how to do burpees safely and how to scale them to your fitness and mobility level. Remember, this is your workout and it’s perfectly okay if it looks different than mine.
