If you haven’t incorporated juicing into your diet yet, you should start immediately. Green juice is extremely hydrating; cleanses the digestive tract; and allows concentrated minerals and vitamins to rapidly enter your bloodstream.

It’s also an amazing way to reach your daily vegetable and fruit serving recommendation.

This recipe is a great base (and my go-to green juice), but you should feel free to play around with different ingredients. Start with a vegetable that will give you a solid liquid base, like celery and cucumber. Adding dark leafy greens like kale and spinach will also add a ton of vitamins, while adding an apple or a pear will give it the perfect amount of sweetness.

Note: If you use an apple or pear, this recipe is only compliant on Kickstart. Without the fruit, it’s compliant on all levels.

Essential Green Juice

It’s best to drink the juice immediately because when you transform fruits and vegetables into a liquid the foods quickly lose nutrients. That said, if you make extra just store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator, and the juice will still be loaded with health benefits.

You’ll be amazed at how much energy you’ll get from this green juice just after one sip. You’ll feel better and look better, and eventually become addicted. Happy juicing!

Essential Green Juice

This recipe is a great base (and my go-to green juice), but you should feel free to play around with different ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 1 cucumber
  • 5 celery stalks
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 apple or pear do not use on Lifestyle or Performance levels
  • 2 handfuls kale or spinach
  • 1/2 lemon peeled
  • 1/2- inch piece fresh ginger
  • A pinch of turmeric

Instructions

  1. Wash all your veggies and fruits.
  2. Cut your apple into quarters and remove the rind from the lemon.
  3. Add all your fruits and veggies to your juicer. (Tip: Use your apple pieces to help push the leafy greens through the juicer because those can get caught.)
  4. Pour your juice into a glass and stir in your turmeric. (Turmeric contains curcumin, a substance with powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties; it’s amazing for you.)
  5. Enjoy your juice immediately or store in an airtight container for up to a day in the refrigerator.

Recipe Notes

Adding the apple or pear will add some natural sweetness. It will also make this recipe non-compliant on Lifestyle and Performance, so choose to use apple or pear based on both your personal taste and your chosen nutrition level.
