Whether it’s game day, movie night, or any other reason for a party, there’s nothing quite like fresh, homemade guacamole. What’s great about this chunky guacamole is that it’s easy to make and deceptively healthy. There’s really nothing bad about guacamole (except maybe the fact that you’re going to want to eat it all.)
I like to leave my guacamole with some texture and chunks in it, but you can follow this same recipe and make a smoother guacamole if you prefer. Similarly, if you want to amp up the lime juice or add some hot pepper, this recipe makes a good base for you to get creative from. However you make it, this guacamole will provide you with heart-healthy fats, fiber, nutrients, and snacking success all in one delicious dish.
Easy Chunky Guacamole
Whether it’s game day, movie night, or any other reason for a party, there’s nothing quite like fresh, homemade guacamole. What’s great about this chunky guacamole is that it’s easy to make and deceptively healthy.
Ingredients
- 2 whole avocados
- 1/2 red onion diced
- 1 Roma tomato seeded and diced
- Juice of 1/2 lime or 1 Tbsp lime juice
- 2-3 cloves of garlic minced
- 2 Tbsp cilantro chopped
- 1 tsp salt or to taste
Instructions
-
Slice open the avocados, discard the pits, and scoop the flesh into a medium-sized bowl.
-
Mash the avocado with a fork until you reach your preferred consistency (we like chunky guacamole).
-
Mix in tomatoes, onion, garlic, and cilantro.
-
Add lime juice and mix thoroughly. Taste and add more if you like.
-
Add salt to taste, and give the guacamole one final stir.
-
Serve with a variety of vegetables for dipping (think carrots, jicama, radishes, cucumber, bell peppers, and more).
