Your Lifestyle Practice is to support your team members by engaging with them in their reflections every day.
Every day, you will earn lifestyle points for commenting on at least 3 of your teammates daily reflections.
- If you have a small team, or if you’ve been spreading the love with them daily already, we invite you to complete this week’s challenge by commenting on reflections in the world feed.
- People do not have to be struggling for you to support them – an “attaboy” can go as far as an “I’ve got your back”
Why do we have teams anyway? Is it to make sure you get everything you need? Kind of, but if everyone on a team is only in it for themselves, they’d only ever be taking and giving nothing back. It’d be almost like a pyramid scheme. Eventually the whole thing would just run out of steam, and there’d be people who’d lose out so that others could thrive. That can’t be it.
If you think about it, you have “teams” all over your life. Your family is a team, your friends, co-workers, your neighborhood, and your community are all kinds of teams. Groups of people, whether you “know” them or not, who are banded together for a common cause, whether tightly or loosely. Do you think of the people you pass every day on the street as your team? Your team in taking care of the world you all live in and your team in making it a better place for everyone? Imagine if you took that on. It might change the way you relate to everyone.
Teams harness the power of a group to ensure that everyone accomplishes a common goal, even when some are struggling. When you need backup, it’s there. When you have extra, you give. And everyone on the team experiences the success of the collective effort. That sometimes means looking around and making sure that everyone is making progress.
Teams aren’t a “wham bam thank you ma’am” kind of deal – get a power boost from everyone else and skyrocket to success on your own. The power of teams comes from supporting as much as being supported. The greater support everyone gives, the more power the team has. The more power the team has, the more momentum the whole team can ride. It becomes a self-sustaining system.
You may be on a small team here. You may be on a big one. No matter what, you are a part of the Whole Life Challenge team. Your participation here plays a part in taking care of the world you we all live in and in making it a better place for everyone.
“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.” Anne Frank
